Favorite food:  Truthfully Kavik would eat anything that you gave to her.  She was just so happy to have any attention that she wagged her whole body.  She was also fond of her biweekly dentabones that we gave her to help with the terrible condition her teeth were in after eating wet dog food her whole life.
Favorite toy:  She was an older dog when she came to live with us and I can not recall her even touching a toy once.  Perhaps she was too old to be interested.
Favorite game:  I am not sure if this qualifies as a game but she would start out by putting her paw in your lap to be petted.  Slowly she would creep forward until she has as much of her body as possible in your lap.  I am not sure if she even realized she was doing this as her eyes were closed the whole time.
The funniest moment was the first time that Kavik was tried in basic obedience.  She was very good at heeling and would not venture past your hand.  She was not so good at sitting though.  You could tell she was getting more and more frustrated as the session went on because they were heeling less and sitting more.  Finally, when the heeling stopped and she was told to sit again, she threw back her head and howled!
Kavik came to us all the way from TNT Racing Team, Wisconsin.  She raced sprint and mid-distance with her former owner.  She was the quietest Siberian Husky that I have ever known.  She got along with everyone.  She had an incredible stride and seemed to be able to lope all day.  She came to us as a trained leader but we were still working out the idea that I knew which way to go better than she did!
She spent her days here learning house manners for the first time, trying basic obedience, doing some back packing and running lead on the sled or cart.  Unfortunately, Kavik was very adept at climbing any fence.  Even with both ends of the kennel covered, she managed to escape while I was cleaning her crate in the house.
I wish that her life wasn't cut short in this sudden manner but she lives on in her sons and daughters - several of whom are still racing.  May you get all the love and attention now that you so enjoyed.  Humans and huskies alike mourn her passing.
