In Loving Memory of DJ's "Snickers"
Black/tan/white male Border Collie with brown eyes.
Date of birth:  July 13th.
Unfortunately, Snickers will never get to celebrate his first birthday.  We lost him suddenly and without warning.  He lost a battle with cancer that he had probably fought every day of his short life.  It was as sudden as him being fine one night and sick the next afternoon.

Favorite food:  hotdogs.  Our trainer is very fond of food and I am cheap.  So I use little pieces of cooked hotdog.  He would do anything for a bite.  Including turn in circles, fetch, shake, sit, down, stay, come, heel, and run the cones.  He was showing incredible promise in obedience and I was looking forward to working him in agility.
Favorite toy:  Gypsy, our Siberian Husky.  I swear that he was in love with her and would follow her everywhere!  He also had the typical Border Collie eye and loved to herd our pigs whenever he got the chance.  None of them were dumb enough to stick their noses out through the fence when he was around!!!
Favorite game:  fetch.  He did not care what you threw, he brought it back.  He also was getting pretty good at bringing you things back that you didn't even know you had lost!!  It was a bit hard to explain to him that you had intended to leave something somewhere he could reach it and didn't need it back :O)
Funniest moment:  Probably was the first time he came face to face with a pig.  He had pretty much been raised in the house and around the Siberians.  I really doubted to this point that he had any herding instincts!!  He sure proved me wrong!
Proudest moment:  His graduation from basic obedience.  Snickers was a wonderful dog to live with and to work.  He showed great intelligence and heart in all that he did.  He defied the stereotype of a Border Collie being hyper.  He never had an accident in the house and learned everything that was asked of him.  He never gave me any reason to complain about him not being a Siberian!
May you enjoy running free and have lots of sheep to herd and Siberians to play with!!  Humans and huskies alike mourn your passing and to us you will always be a Siberian at heart!!
